In my earlier message I said

"I certainly am one lucky guy. Berestovitz is my village. Howard,
George Maser, me, and the Volhynian tour gang had a great time there
several years ago. Not only did my Remus ancestors live here but also
the Rapzkies (went to MN), Deutschlanders (George Maser plus these
folks are all over the US and Canada), and Kubals (to MI)."

I forgot also to mention the Domros family (MN), Sakwi (AB), Hoppe
(SK), and Henshells there. With guest godparents the Bidermanns from
nearby Anielowka.

Now on to 2380017 Birth records for Roschistsche ...
This covers the fairly big parish church at Roschistsche on the river
Styr. It was where most area marriages occurred. It served local
villages including Dubisch, Tarnowole, Sapust, Pressalup, Stanislawke,
and Olganowka where you find lots of my Radkes, Rudlaffs, Wesselowskis
(Frohlichs), Hahns, Krassins, Kurtz, and others. Here is a link to
pictures of that area

The records are clear and the German script is understandable to
moderns. It is the same script found in the marriage records I talked
about earlier. The records are quite detailed and follow the path of
the pastor as he travels from village to village. They are detailed
with the village of birth, dates of birht and baptism, parents full
names, and godparents (often relatives).

Part of these birth records (1862 to 1875) were on old 905256 but the
post 1875 are not found elsewhere. St Pete archive listings on the
sggee website cover these records but the numbers don't correspond and
some of these records are not listed. Thus not only did I find more
detail but also new folks for my family tree.

Wishing you happy hunting if your family was from this area
See you at SGGEE in Minneapolis next weekend

Bill Remus
