Hello, I was wondering if anyone has heard the name in their
research. This is my grandfather that came to Canada through Bremen,
Germany to Quebec City on the ship SS Palanza on July 28, 1912. My
father was born in Ostrov( as it is spelled on his Canadian
citizenship paper) on Oct. 30, 1900. I'm not sure what they did
there but I assume they got there from Germany sometime before that.
I don't know if my grandfather had brothers or sisters in Ostrov or
Germany before that. Just for more info, My father was Listed as
Jakob on the passenger list but was called Jack. The name Karlobisky
was shortened to Karl shortly after they arrived. I don't know if
there could be any connection to other Karl's listed in Canada or
USA. I am just new at this so appreciate any suggestions. Thank
you, Don
