[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Warthegau

To be a little more specific, the Warthegau was one of the four
"resettlement districts" in western Poland which the Nazis occupied in 1939
and into which they hoped to bring enough Germans to solidify Germandom in
the area and make it serve as a bulwark against the Slavs to the east. The
other "gaue" were Danzig/West Prussia, East Prussia and Upper Silesia. I've
never seen a map of just where the Warthegau borders were, but it
essentially was the province of Posen, with the Lodz district.
