Descendants of German people from Poland and the Volhynia region are bering invited to a meeting in June to further the establishment of the Wandering Volhynians Historical Society.
The society is being set up to establish a research centre in the Edmonton area for the Ewald Wuschke library.
Mr. Wuschke, who lives in Vancouver, has spent several decades collecting books and maps pretaining to the history and genealogy of the Germans of eastern Europe. It is his wish that his library be placed in Edmonton because of the high concentration of East European Germans who settled in this area.
A steering committee has been working on organizing the society since last July. The name has been reserved, and the organization is being registered as a society in Alberta.
The meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23rd, 2002, at the Trinity Lutheral Church, 10014 - 81st Avenue,
Edmonton. Public support is essential for this project to succeed, so everyone interested in this work is encouraged to attend.

This announcement is being made by me as the Chairman of the Steering Committee.
