At http://www.clockwk.com you will find a computerized interactive European
atlas available for sale.

There is a free version available that covers the years of the partitions
of Poland and Napoleon's era, about 1792-1820.

As you increase the time line month by month, the borders change
automatically to show how things changed with the various political and
military situations. You can zoom in to focus on different regions and you
can drag the map around to see different areas. A text button brings up a
brief explanation of what was going at the time you happen to stop at.

This atlas is NOT useful for finding places.

The free version is fully functional and is only limited by the years as noted.

I would not rate this device as highly as the Magocsi historical atlas
(book version) because the maps do not have the detail like city and river
names which are helpful in orienting oneself to location and changes.

The full version is not cheap but is a neat device for those of you that
like to do everything on your computer.
