Hi Guenther,

I could find a second explanation for Dreger in my "Deutsches Namenlexikon"
by Hans Bahlow:
Dreger (northern German, Hamburg often) = Dreier (Drechsler) =  turner in
English.
Duden Familiennamen (family names) shows both variations.
