It is really amazing how history is written by those who hold power. As it is today, some events seem to gain instant notariety while others are barely noticed. It is tragic that so much of our history has been filtered down so that the truth is barely recognizable even when it is found. Perhaps that is why what we do in tracing our family history is so important. It is through our work that we can preserve the truth for future generations so that they will know what happened through the eyes of the people that it happened to.
