Thanks to SGGEE members, my plans for my trip to Germany and Poland are
falling into place. Although I have privately thanked them, I wanted to openly
acknowledge the information and resources I received from Miles Ertman and
especially Howard Krushel. I have arranged for a reliable guide/driver with a car; I
know when the Lublin Lutheran archives office is open and have received an
email reply from the pastor; and I have several website URLs for arranging
accommodations. Many others offered general words of encouragement and reassurrance
about the trip, for which I am also grateful.

I have also been trying to think of small items, quintessentially North
American, that will pack easily, which I could take with to pass out as "mementos"
to people I meet there. My natural inclination is to make something, but I
don't have the time. Do any of you have suggestions which would be helpful to me
or others making similar trips?

Thank you to all of you! I look forward to sharing my trip through an
article or perhaps a website photo link.
Sigrid Pohl Perry
