Hi Walter

In the particular case I sited, the individual is a one year old male
arriving in 1913. That's 27 years later. I have seen ones much earlier
then that with same notation dated from around 1939- 1944. I can't help
but think it has something to do with WWII.

Subject: [Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Numbers on Ship's manifest

Hi Michael
On my uncle's Passenger List there are also a couple of numbers one
is
the number of the Certificate of Arrival that was issued and it's date,
I
can not match the others with either of his Declaration of Intention of
his
Petition for Naturalization but probably has to do with the process.
Another
uncle's numbers has Det (persumed Detriot, Michigan)
