The following web page contains new (2003) info about a history of the Baptists in Russian Poland, especially with respect to one of the earliest preachers, Gottfried Alf. Page down to near the bottom for the article, "New Book Reveals Struggles of Early Baptists in Poland".

Interesting bit of info in the last paragraph:

" It also resulted in Wardin writing a book on Alf entitled Gottfried F. Alf: Pioneer of the Baptist Movement in Poland. After much searching, a story he recounts in his book, Alf's grave was discovered by a field in rural area near the village of Mogilnica, east of Lublin, Poland. It was overgrown and neglected, but the monument, with its inscription in German, had "miraculously" survived weather and war. Wardin has financed the costs to restore the gravesite and transfer it from Russian Orthodox Church ownership to Polish Baptists."
