Thanks Rose. As I think about it, the State New Jersey vital statistics
takes about 4 months to respond to a request. Do you think a translation
of my request into Polish would help?

I would be a little more patient.  It may be that the person who can
read or 
write English at the the Grodzisk Mazowiecki archives is swamped.  I
suspect 
this is a much smaller Archives than the Warsaw Archives.
