[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] TIEFENBACH Research "part of household"

I would guess "part of the household" means the person lived with the  
family.

They might be extended family - aunt, grandmother, sister-in-law,  
niece, married daughter; or perhaps they were employed by the family.

Without more info, it's too hard to determine the exact role.
