I would like to express a public "thank you" to Jerry Frank for meeting up
with me at the LDS in Calgary and giving me a headstart on viewing microfilm
records from the Wuermberg, Mecklenberg, Germany area, of Taufen 1747-1785;
this has enabled me to begin researching my ancestors further into the
Germany area. I've now located records back to my 5th great grandparents,
and an assumed 1725 date! My goal is into the 1500s.
And also to Paul Work who's historical knowledge has also led me to further
research in the Warin, Mecklinberg-Schwerin, Germany area.
During my involvement with the ger-poland-volhynia ListServList & SGGEE
websites, I've met quite a few very fine people. Another is Rose Ingram, who
has so kindly assisted me in locating records in the Nowa Duninnow parish.
I would also like to thank Jutta Dennerlein for all her work with the -
UpstreamVistula website...I refer this website to many of my relatives &
friends, and thank you for your continued research in this area. A most
phenominal website.
Through my research, I've just recently finally met up with a long-lost
cousin of mine in Cleveland, OH, USA, and was able to meet up with her for
the first time last week during a business trip to Toronto, ON. I managed a
quick jaunt across the border. Her great-grandfather is my grandmother's
Bro. We travelled together to the Lutheran Cemetery Est. 1894 & were able to
capture digital shots of many of our ancestor's graves, who immigrated to
the US in the late 1800s & early 1900s, and are now buried there. It was a
mingling of sadness & joy.
