[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Lodz records

Gerhard Brandschau was born in Lodz 06-16-1932, parents Heinrich Brandschau and  
Olga Wudel. Wudel seems to be a common name in the area, but I cannot locate  
Brandschau anywhere. Is there maybe a Polish form of the name that could have  
been changed later to sound German?
