Donna:
Kazmierka Stary was established as a German settlement in 1782 and I believe
the present church(Bethaus-prayer house) was built in 1907. It is a
beautiful church, still lit with coal oil lamps and candles, just as it was
back in 1907; it's very small but very historic and quaint. In 1997 it had
only 10 parishioners and was served once a month by Pastor Benert from
Kalisch; originally it was served from Stawiszyn. The cemetery has many
familiar German names: Pedde, Neumann, Schmidt, Guzt, Dalke, Steinke,
Jesswein, Zeidel, Teschner, Krueger, Retzlaff. In 1997 a Mrs. Falk was the
caretaker, living in the old Cantor house next to the church.
I too wonder if it is still being used as a Lutheran Church.

Subject: [Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Kazimierka Church

I visited a rural church in Kazimierka near Grodziec. I was told it was a
Lutheran church or had been at one time. I have photos of the church and the
sign on it. The original writing on the sign has been replaced with Polish
writing.

Does anyone know of a Lutheran church established in Kazimierka? Would
someone be willing to translate the writing?
