This is in response to Worth Anderson's letter about the Russian
Census; I would be interested in that, too.

My husband Harry Jansohn's gt.grandmother was named Amalie
RAHN; she was born about 1830, and married Eduard LISTANDER
in the early 1850's. Their oldest child that we have found records for
was born in 1856. Sophie LISTANDER,born 1858 was my husband's grandmother.
She married Johan JANSOHN in 1879; their son Albert Eduard JANSOHN
was my husband's father, born 1896 in Plunje/Plungiany, Lithuania.

We have been researching Harry's family for about a year now with micro-
films at the Family History Center for the Ev. Lutheran Church of Schoden/
Skuodas/Schudy. It is located in NW Lithuania near the Latvian border
and the Baltic Sea.

Most of my husband's family seem to be from this same area, but his
ggt.grandfather
Alexander JANSOHN was was Wilki/Vilkija, Lithuania which may have been
closer to
or in Poland at an earlier time.

What area were your RAHN ancestors from?

Janice Jansohn
