[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Parish Records Index questions

Hello all,
  I have some questions on our Parish Records Index on the website. How were the names in our database selected to be put into the datebase? Were all the names from LDS films? If for example I type in Menke, one name that comes up is Paulina Menke of Lodz b. 1859. Was every name from that film put into our database? Just the German names? What timeframe and geographic areas are in our Parish Records Index? 
   
  I know this is a lot of questions, but what I'm getting at is this... There are a few Menke's in Lodz, so are those films a good place for me to look for more? Or is every Menke found on those films already listed in our Parish Records Index?
