Rita,
Others gave you the correct information on the spellings. As the Germans called it, Litzmanstadt was the headquarters of EWZ. Two major camps where Germans from Polish Volhynia were kept before receiving their assigned new farms were in nearby Zgierz and Pabianice. If your relatives were in present day Poland during the resettlement they probably did not spend time in these camps.

We are in the process of writing family history and want to get some facts
right:

With repect to names of town/city: my understanding is that

Lotsch = Litzmanstadt or is it Lodz ? (Spellings please)

Litzmanstadt is referred to as a place where people were gathered in a camp to
be registered for resettlement. Is this correct?

Thankyou,
Rita Lyster, Barrhead
