Poland phone directory at http://www.ksiazka-telefoniczna.com/index.php/ has 6 listings of Zeilke in Bydgoszcz (Bromberg). Choose Kujawsko-pomorskie as the Area, Bydgoszcz as the Town, and Zielke as the Last name, and click on Search.
There are also 6 Zielke in Warszawa (Warsaw), Mazowieckie Area.
Maybe some distant cousins to contact. Not a lot of help, I guess.

Another possible and likely (more common) variation is Zielke. The name beginning with a "C" is not a German spelling but rather the Polish approximation. The C sound in Polish is equivalent to the Z sound in German (like our TS).

I have been searching for links to this family for over 30 years with little progress, so any suggestions are appreciated. Otto and his sisters immigrated with the spelling of ZILCKE as their last name. Last residence before immigration listed as Bromberg. Does anyone know if they had to present any documents prior to boarding that would establish the correct spelling of their name?
Otto Cilke b 1890 in or near Warsaw. Possibly between Warsaw and Plock.
Father Henry, mother Julianna, ( Wagner Wegner ,Werner ???) Otto married Amelia C. Krol Sniezek. They are later found in various records as Cilke Celke and Selke. Owned and operated restaurant at 2nd and Arch as Commercial Lunch into the 1930's.
Known sisters: Hilda abt 1888, married Theodore George in Philadelphia, was widowed and married unknown Hopkins, later known to be living on Pratt St. Phila.; Augusta b. abt 1891, have never found a trace of her after immigration. All arrived US in 1907, final destination their uncle Johan SCHAFRIK in Philadelphia,PA .
Thanks in advance for any help.
