[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] To the detectives that helped read the letter

I had posted a request for help to read some old script and you responded by 
deciphering a mystery....yet one remained:

The letter written on the back of a photograph was one from my grandfather's 
brother written to my grandfather who had come to Canada in 1929.  He wrote:

"waiter ich wohne schon auf mainem lande  hab erst ain haus  aine kiche (kuhe) 
ist mich gefalen im frigahr"

Since he used no punctuation, it was difficult to decide what went together 
however the answer is "kuhe" not kiche.  (cow not kitchen)

When I read it to my father, it triggered a memory of his uncle having a cow 
that choked (was choking) on potatoes so they butchered the cow and shared the 
meat within the village.  He described the cow as having a saddle---I was 
confused as asked if they rode the cow....he says no, no, that is what the 
coloring on the cow looked like.

So I looked on Wikipedia and found the Belted Galloway breed of which the 
Dutch Belted were more favorable milk producers.

So it was a Cow (not kitchen)!!

Thankyou all again for helping to solve the mystery...it has given us much 
conversation for the past few days!
