Hello Listers,

Ludwig Trautner – where has he gone???

The already known information:
a) Marriage certificate of Ludwig Trautner and Wilhelmine nee Schielke, widowed
Jabs; married 26. Jan. 1909 in Sierpc (RusPoland):
"widower of Emilie nee Beker who died in Sierpc; worker, inhabitant of Sierpc,
23 years old, born [about 1885] in Budy Woljany, son of the worker Andreas
Trautner and Wilhelmine nee Glodowski, both already dead."
b) Death certificate of Wilhelmine Trautner, nee Schielke, widowed Jabs; died
25. Dec. 1937 in Sierpc:
"Ludwig Trautner, who emigrated to North-America [USA or Canada?] 26 years
before [about 1911], and there are no further news about him."

He was not found, neither at the Ellis Island records nor at US census records
or the Social Security death records.
The Hamburg Passenger Lists from 1850-1934 have also been checked, but there was
no positive result. (The emigration lists for emigrants travelling via
Bremerhaven for the years 1905 till 1919 have been destroyed by a bomb attack
during the II. World War.) ---

So I see the following possibilities left: Ludwig Trautner went from RusPoland
to Canada, but not via Hamburg, or he went to Germany and stayed there. Ports
for leaving Europe could also have been Danzig, Cuxhaven, Copenhagen, Antwerpen,
Rotterdam, Southampton and Kristiania (Norway) - Also he might have changed his
name since he seemed to be leaving a wife and family behind in Sierpc.

Thanks a lot for every support!

Gerhard (Jabs)
