[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Jahnke = Manke & Occupation: Buedner

Hi Gilda;
    Nothing in my dictionary of German names to indicate that Jahnke and Manke are at all similar or derived from the same root.  However Jahnke and Janke or often used within the same family.  Both are pronounced 
Y-aw -nke, but Janke is often horribly mispronounced as yankee but with a J instead of a Y.
    The occupation of Buedner or Buedener is a small farmer; stallkeeper (a market place booth or small shop).

  possible distant cousin of mine in Hamburg.

  Does anyone know if the Surname Jahnke = Manke ???

  Also, what does the occupation of Buedner mean to anyone???
