Hello Brigitte,

I don't know anything about the other families you mention, other people may be able to help you with that, but I am interested in your Kelm family. My Oma was Emilie Kelm, and her Kelm ancestors were in the are of Dabie, Przedecz and Chodecz.

I will write privately to you and discuss this.

  hi everybody,

  thank you for your mail
please fin enclosed all my data I planned to send you at 30 oct 2007

  have a nice day

  Brigitte
  ---------------------------

  everybody,

first I would like to introduce myself:

I am Brigitte Hanelt from Berlin, Germany 58 years old and because my mother and I are the last of our
(Kelm) family I am searching for my American and my Polish family Ancestors.

I already tried it with several big genealogy societies but because I don`t have very many records I see you as perhaps my last chance.

I am searching for the descendants of Erhard Eckert and his wife Justine Eckert (Ekkert) who once went from Thueringen, eastern Germany to Zdunska Wola in Poland, a little town close to Lodz.

Erhard and Justine had 5 children

  1) Emilie Eckert born between 1880 and 1885 with 2 children called Grete (died of breast cacer)
and Robert or Bob. They emmigrated from Hamburg to New York and in 1950/1954 they lived in
    Paterson, New Jersey.
Emilie`s son Bob joined the air force during World War II and he flew air riads against Germany.

2)Karoline Anges Rahn (my great grandmother ) was born 21 Jan. 1886 in Zdunska Wola,
her first spouse`s name was Busse. With him she had the Childre Robert and Rudi who came
with her in the 1920ties to Berlin, Germany. Her second spouse was called Rahn. Granny died
     7 Dec.,1969 in Berlin

  3) a son who lived in Essen, Germany

  4) a daughter called Wanda who died in Koenigsberg 1945 - she had one daughter.

  5) a daugther who`s name we don`t kow-she had a daughter called Lotti who married a man
from Poland and who stayed in Zdunska Wola ?-last message was 1950.

I am the descendant of Karolie Agnes Rahn and her son Robert Busse. Robert was togehter with
Elisabeth Dornbusch ( they were not allowed to marry because of missing papers) and they had
a child - my mother - called Waltraud.

Waltraud married Günter Kelm, Berlin, they got my sister Monika Kelm and me Brigitte Hanelt nee Kelm.

In 1954 my parents planned to emmigrate to Baltimore/USA but we had to stay in Germany because of my mothers illness.

This time - 1954 - was the last time when we had contact with the Polish and American families.

You have to kow that we had the big wall in Berlin from 1963 til 1989 and all my grand parents as well as my great grandmothers lived in eastern Germany, the former DDR. Residents from Berlin were not allowed to visit the DDR, mail was lost wery often. It was impossible to phone etc.
And when the wall fell dwon most of them were already dead of when we could visit them in East Berlin it was only for the funeral. So we lost all the data.

But I still hope to get some information about these lost people and to get some more information about my ancestors in Poland and America.

And perhaps there is someone outside who can remenber the Kelm family from Berlin.

If somebody can help me please be so kind and send a mail to brhanelt at aol.com.

Thank you in advance and all the best to you all

  Brigitte
