[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Mieske/Mueske

In the St. Petersburg extractions, my Mieske line is fairly consistently
translated as MIESKE.

There are a number of MUESKE names in the SGGEE database "SGGEE001r8". What
language were these records in? Is it safe to assume that Mieske and Mueske
are likely the same name, and that the "ie" and "ue" are variations of the
same German letter(s), probably the "i" with the 2 dots above it?
