[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] several miscelaneous questions

Hello all –

First a question about "Stamm-buch". How accurate should they be considered?
Can someone give information on how and why they were compiled? I have 6 or
so generations (incomplete) from my grandfather back, by consulting the info
in the Stammbuch of a sibling of his.

And then there is the famous "dictum" of genealogy, roughly "information
without authentication is speculation" or something like that. What
constitutes authentication? Is it necessary to have hard copy of every b/m/d
"certificate", even copies of the church register entry? I realize there are
no "genealogy police", but for the sake of those who may take an interest in
my genealogy after me – how much do I need?

This relates, also, to SGGEE membership information. I'm in the process of
applying for membership, and I note that they would like a copy of the
German ancestry of the members. Again – what degree of accuracy is required?
In what format? (Right now, what I have is Ahnentafel format) Furthermore, I
am in the process of availing myself of the fruits of others' research on
Pommeranian nobility in part of my ancestry, and this will take many, many
more hours to complete. Do I send in what I have? Wait until I have
exhausted my sources? Could someone please tell me.

I also have a question about my Gohl and Hoell ancestors.

Abraham Gohl

born in Moehringen (by Stuttgart, Wuerttemberg) 25.Nov.1790 died
25.Feb.1859 in Maschewo

On 24.Nov.1814 in Plock he married

Susannah Katharina Hoell

          born 06.Aug.1795 Birkenfeld, Wuerttemberg died
09.Dec.1833/5 in Povschin

Their son, Johann Frederick was born 29.Dec.1828 in Povschin, so would have
been between 7 and 9 at the time of her death. I'm sure that Abraham must
have married again – has anyone any information on whom? or how I find out
whom? I would also like to find information on any siblings of Johann
Frederick Gohl – there may have been a sister Katharina (Katarzyna) born in
1820, but that is all I have.

A lot of questions. I have more, but they can wait. Thank-you in advance
for any help and advice.
