[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Arndt/Schmidt

Hi Nelson,

Fishing in the dark, not really... this is great information... certainly
information that needs to be looked at. I'll take anything I can get...
crumbs and parts of puzzle pieces. I'm going to email this to her
granddaughter. Maybe she'll find something here that will ignite something
in her memory.

Thanks!

Joyce

Hello Joyce:
There is a Anna Arndt, 16 yrs, who arrived in New York on Mar 11, 1903 on
Ship Finland, with sister Magdalena, 9 yrs, ethnicity Russian Lithuanian,
last Residence Essen, Germany. Going to father Carl Arndt in Detroit, Mich.
Passage paid by mother. They were travelling alone. Maybe this could be a
lead.
Did she have a sister?
There is a Johanna Arndt, age 16 yrs. Arrived New York on SS Friesland on
Oct 29, 1901, travelling alone. German last residence Berlin going to father
Paul Arndt 330 Federal Street, Philadelphia, PA.
Fishing in the dark?
Nelson

Lois,
The Arndt in my family was married to a Zimmerman. Her name was Anne Louise.
On her marriage certificate to Martin Zimmerman in 1907 in Portland, Oregon,
USA, she says she was born in Polen. Her death certificate has no parents
names and says born in Germany, March 16, 1885. A descendent of Martin and
Anne, who has supplied me with many pictures and much information, told me
she'd like to know more about her grandmother as well as her grandfather. My
eyes are always open, but there is very little to go on.

There are Arndts and Schmidts in the SGGEE database. I'm assuming that
you've looked there, if you are a member.

Hello Jerry,

Amongst your Arndt relatives have you ever encountered someone who may have
married a Schmidt? We think ours originated from Radom.
