Hello Rita,
it was not a Sprichwort (proverb) but an Abzählreim (children's counting 
rhyme).
Here is another one:

    Eine kleine Dickmadam
    fuhr mal mit der Eisenbahn.
    Eisenbahn, die krachte,
    Dickmadam, die lachte.
    Lachte, bis der Schutzmann kam,
    und sie mit zur Wache nahm.
