Hello Jerry,

Kay referred to some information, that was partly searched by me. Some
roots of our ancenstors
around Petrikau seem definitely lead to Posen- and Neumark area. The
referred names are GRUENEICH and HANELT. Maybe, the sources do obviously NOT
cover Petrikau-area, but there is some useful information about people who
went there!

With help of my absolute best searching-friend Irmgard Müller, who is a
specialist for Petrikau-area, I was able to prove, that G. and H.'s next
origin is: from Neumark and Posen ! This colonists seem to have immigrated
from Baden-Würtemberg to Poland. I've got some detailed information about
that, but it is not safe enough to publish.
I was also able to prove the origin of the Bessarabian Grueneich from the
same area of Petrikau and Radomsk, the families in Bessarabia are definitly
close siblings of the Grueneich from Petrikau-area.
I'm just working on finding exact information about G.- family around
Driesen/Neumark

There is existing some "obstinate" story, especially in the United States,
that the GRUENEICH-family immigrated from Grafenort/Habelschwerdt to Poland
That is NOT right!
The "real" Grafenort was a colony south of Belchatow, which was established
around 1803.
Colonists of Grafenort came from ~Stawiszyn-area and before: from Posen and
Neumark !!!

I published this information on one of my early Websites!

Just to clarify - As I understand the project and based on the listing
shown, item #3 does not cover Petrikau which was not in Posen / Poznan.
