If Ludwig or Emilia were alive in 1940 you could order a copy of their registration on the 1940 National registration. The cost is $45 plus taxes for each document but may well be worth it.

Subject: [Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Zhitomir, Ludwig and Emilia Kelm, circa 1882

  Hi there,

  Hopefully someone can help.
I am seeking information about my ancestors. According to documents I have,
my ggrandfather Ludwig Kelm was born in Zhitomir around 1882. My
ggrandmother Emilia Ziebart and Ludwig were married and had a daughter
named Elsa before coming to Canada in 1913. I am not sure of where they
married, when, or where Emilia came from. Ludwig is listed as a farmer
since 1901, which means he likely worked on his family farm.

Emilia apparently had a brother named Emil "in Germany".

I know this is a longshot, but I'm banging my head against a roadblock
here, and all of Ludwig and Emilia's children are deceased, so its
impossible to get information from family members.

Any help would be great, thanks.

  Kris Kelm
