Dear Vera,

Welcome to the group. You will find that there is a lot of information
here. If you haven't done so already I recommend going through all the
archives. It takes a while but is well worth it. I clicked on the link to
your blog. I was interested in one of your posts about Lodz. You were
worried that the refugees who went there to apply at the EWZ were moving
into houses that belonged to evicted Jewish families. I can't speak for
your family of course but I know that my family members were housed in the
army barracks outside of town. I don't know who moved into those houses but
someone here might know. The refugees from Russia and Ukraine weren't
always welcomed with open arms like long lost brothers. Volksdeutsche were
not considered to be in the same league as Reichsdeutsche.
You also mentioned that you wanted to order some EWZ files but were
concerned about the cost. Did you end up ordering any? I ordered one file
and my cd has the names from Kistner - Klass. If you think you have a
relative on this list let me know and I can look through my cd for you.

Beatrix
