[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Infant Deaths

I'll add my two cents worth here. My paternal grandmother who hailed from 
Skittlauken in East Prussia, remembered going hungry if  there was a bad 
potato or  turnip crop. I don't think that  helped maintain good health.
