[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Elizabeth Ackermann from Odessa

I recently found a passenger list for a relative of mine, Elizabeth 
Ackermann, b.1888 to Philip Ackermann and Katharina Volk. She said she 
came from Friedentahl, Odessa, Russia. Any chance anyone could help me 
find information on her family? She emigrated to Canada in September 
1909, moved to Manitoba, where she married my widowed 
great-great-grandfather in November 1909. However, he was living (at 
least part time) in Anaconda, Montana at that time. I just found a 
border crossing record for Elizabeth, dated Dec 1909 stating she was 
going to Linton, North Dakota to see an uncle named John Volk 
(presumably her mother's brother). I can't find her in any censuses in 
North Dakota, and there are too many John Volks to narrow it down. Can 
anyone help me, either with info on Elizabeth in Friedentahl or in North
 Dakota/Manitoba?
