Here is a note that I discovered in one of my ancestors notes.

Russia and Ukraine both trace their lineage to a slavic prince, St. Vladimer [or Volodymyr], who appears on both countries banknotes.
For centuries, tsarist Russia claimed Ukraine as an extension, calling the territory “Little Russia”

My query, is Volodymyr the root source of the name Volhynia ?
