I'm doubtful that would work.   Years ago there was a Pastor who was 
fluent in English and someone was able to work
with him by mail and got a lot of information.   But, he retired and 
went back to Germany.
My researcher, a fluent Polish speaker, called  and first it was " wait 
until Christmas is over",   then after Christmas it was "wait until
   Easter is over"   then " wait until  summer holidays are over."   It 
was one year between the initial phone call and the appointment.

The other issue is that the church charged  an arm and a leg for 
copies.  My researcher  asked if he just could take digital pictures and 
the Pastor said no.

Perhaps a different researcher would have better luck??
