Hello Sieg,

First, please let us know the primary family members and approximate
dates of your ancestors who lived in Wegrow parish. Sometimes people
reported events in other nearby parishes rather than going to the main
one. Some of us may recognize a surname popular in a particular parish
in Mazowieckie near Wegrow.

I have also checked all the Polish online records databases for Wegrow
(Węgrów) evangelical records. The only ones I could find are here:

http://metryki.genealodzy.pl/metryki.php?op=kt&ar=6&zs=0809d&sy=3000&kt=1

This url should take you to the page that shows the Wegrow Evangelical marriage records from 1849-1850. I did not find an index of names, but have not had any time to look at every image. Some of these records may also be alegata - certified birth records for the bride and groom getting married in 1849-1850.

I have asked our German colleague, Irmgard Mueller, the moderator of Mittelpolen.de about any other sources for Lutheran records from Wegrow. She tells me that there are no other known sources specifically from this church. She suggested that you search for specific people or families to see if records were accumulated with those in other nearby parishes. Look on this one:

Choose Mazowieckie which includes the town of Wegrow, its Catholic parishes, and other town parishes, some of which include Evangelical records. You can search for the family surname; remember to use some version of Polish spellings because the records are usually in Polish. Some of the results will have scans linked to them. I like to begin with marriages (the middle tab for the search results) to look for a specific couple. I don't add given names until I'm sure I'll get some results on the surname.

Good luck!

As I can't make it to the convention I would ask if someone would take it upon them selves to ask this questions for all of us. From the German Societies in the USA and Germany. If anyone has found any records and where from this area.
