Emiltschin Parish History
The Parish of Emiltschin (1896)
The Parish ("permanent adjunct") of Emiltschin was created in 1896 to alleviate the burdens of the pastors of Heimtal Parish. It was situated in parts of Nowograd-Wolynsk, Zhitomir and Owrutsch Counties and included 6,000 parishioners at the start. By 1907 there were 7,300. Its administrative center was at first in Kuleschi, but was transferred to Emiltschin by Pastor Deringer in 1904. A chapel was built in Emiltschin in 1905, but the parish had no manse.
