Along with the other advice given, be careful that you don't prejudge what
may have happened. People left Europe and arrived here from various ports,
among them: Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, New Orleans, and Halifax, Nova
Scotia. My ggrandfather left Polish Russia, went to Rotterdam, took a ship
to Halifax, then Canadian Railway to Benton Harbor, Michigan. His wife and
children, leaving a couple of months later, made their way to Bremen and
arrived in Philadelphia, then train to Michigan. This was in 1910.
