[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Pallas Surname

Thanks for replying to my posting.

My grandfather came from Volhynia, I believe.  He did list Volyn on his 
citizenship papers for the US.  On the manifest, he lists he is of German 
descent.  I do not know the religion. His family may have been from Poland, 
but I am not sure of this.  I do know, he spoke German.  His father's name 
was Carl (Karl).
He came to the US in 1912 through Libau.
