Lipno's Lutheran records filmed by LDS go back to 1808.
http://www.dobriner-land.de/ reports that the Evangelisches Zentralarchiv in
Berlin has holdings
back to 1793.

Keep in mind that the 1808 law required citizens to register vital statistics
at
Catholic parishes. The presence and occasional convenience of a local
Lutheran parish, whose minister was itinerant and could show up occasionally
in far-flung villages, does not mean that all German Lutherans automatically
recorded there.

I am looking at copies of Lipno marriage records from the late 1850's. The
pastor makes marginal notes regarding births or deaths of "involved parties"
(deceased spouses or parents) that were recorded in the parish. These can
be quite detailed, or completely absent, even though the parties were born
and resided in the Lipno area.

Komorowo is located 6.7 km West of Lipno; Gnojno is 10.5 km WSW of
Lipno. I drive farther than this to go to work every day, but how easy was
it for two people (the dad and a witness) to stop work, just to go report a
birth or a death?

As you all know, the record of many Lutheran parishes begin in 1826 or
shortly thereafter. My experience with the Catholic parishes surrounding
Babiak, Dabie, Przedecz, Gabin, and others shows me that the villages
closest to these Lutheran parishes switched over, almost overnight.
Outlying Catholic parishes Izbica (for Babiak), Da~browice (for Przedecz),
Troszyn (for Gabin), Grabsw or Sobotka (for Dabie) continued recording
German vital statistics through the 1830's or even into the 1840's. The
next round of Lutheran parish formations comes in the early 1840's,
at which point it seems clear that all Germans (mostly Lutheran,
anyway, though there definitely were Catholics in the Wladyslawow/Turek
and greater Lodz area, just to name a few areas) were required to
register in Lutheran churches.

The Parish Records Index (PRI) database shows a Michal Dyl born
1827 #40 at Lipno (#0714854), but I do not know whether the parents
will match up with the ones given in his 1858 marriage record, which
allows us to estimate his birth as about 1825.
