My German-English Dictionary says a "tischler" is a joiner, carpenter,
cabinetmaker.

Delores,

I have compiled a list of occupations that I have been using while
extracting information from the records. One day I hope to have it printed
in the SGGEE Journal.

My list shows Tischler as a cabinet or furniture maker.

Behind one of my ancestors names in brackets is written(Tischler). Is this
a name or an occupation or the maiden name of a previous spouse. I assume
that he may have had one as he was 30.
