Many German men had to serve in the Russian army. They had no choice. Most of them came to the army in 1914. The deportation of the Germans from Volhynia to Siberia was in July 1915. For exemple: my grandfather died in his Russian uniform in 1914, but his wife and the 3 children were sent to Siberia in 1915. Helmut Exner
