Henning,

I assume that you found the following in the public area of the 
sggee.org website?    Your family is clearly there, both the father 
Valentin, and the son Valentin, although the person who extracted the 
wife of the younger Valentin came up with Walker as her maiden name.    
You need to look at the actual record for yourself and determine what 
name was really written.   You can see the images at

To answer your question about Lask, yes it is near Lodz (to the 
southwest of Lodz).    I also note that we have several Bettich names in 
our Master Pedigree Database, and all of them are from the Lodz Trinity 
parish records.    We even have a Valentin Bettich, but if it is your 
family, then it is even further back than the Valentin Bettich who 
married Therese Schubert.
