[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] 1890

I have not personally seen any family histories that have fully
documented the journey from Volhynia to Liverpool. Only passenger lists
from Liverpool, but not how they got there.

However, It is known that the British conducted a major business
transporting immigrants from Hamburg by ship to Hull, England where they
traveled by train to Liverpool and thence onward by ship to the US,
Canada, and other destination ports. Visit web site to view the article at:

It is also been said that group emigrations were arranged by Jewish
agents for Russian Jews and others. An agent put them on the train,
another agent met the train and went with them to Liverpool and stayed
with them until they boarded the ship. Yet another agent met them when
they landed in Halifax or Quebec and then went on the train to other
destinations where family members, friends, or an agent met them. The
Jewish part is definitely true, but for the 'others', I have not seen
documented verification.

I would be extremely interested in hearing about any part of a journey
before departing Liverpool.
