Carol,

I can find nothing that exactly matches what you mention below, but here 
is a theory that may or not be correct.

1.   We have an Ludwig Langner, born in 1874, son of Adolf Langner and 
Pauline Buelow.   Langner is not the same as Lange, but either your data 
or ours may be in error for the surname.

2.   We also have a Wilhelm Benke married to Juliane Buelow, and they 
have children born from 1857 to 1865.   The data that we have does not 
show a daughter Pauline, but she MAY be part of this family, born 
somewhere where we have not yet found records.  If she is part of this 
family, the birth year of 1876 would be 19 years after the first birth, 
and the mother would have been 42.

3.  Ludwig Langner is the first cousin once removed to all of the Behnke 
children noted in 2 above.

Just a theory, but as Al Muth says, truth is way stranger than fiction.
