[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] database retrieval curiosity

When I go to the SGGEE Master Pedigree database and request a retrieval on  
the surname Hirsekorn, I get 257 results.  One of them is for a Berta whose 
 father was Wilhelm Ferdinand, but Wilhelm Ferdinand is not one of the 257  
results.  Several other fathers are missing, and a spot check on children  
shows several unlisted children.  When I do the same retrieval but request  
that the data be sorted by given name (an eminently more sensible thing to 
do),  everyone is present, so far as I know.  The first retrieval has 
numerous  repeated results, some of which can be explained by distinct spouses, but 
not  all.
