There is another possibility for Scheppel:

Tschoepeln in the county Sagan (1908) of Schlesien (Silesia). 

Kartenmeister gives the coordinates as 51°33’ 14°48’

Today it is Czaple in the powiat Zary of wojewodztwo Lubuski in Poland.

 

It is situated 6 km east of the beautiful Bad Muskau with its Fuerst
Pueckler Park, which is spreading east and west of the German-Polish
frontier.
