I have been trying to help Doris Krause Stienen in Berlin search for her family, but she is not able, so far, to get earlier than 1886 when the filmed records for Sierpc end, and Lipno films end even earlier. She has worked for the first time last Friday at the EZAV in Berlin and we hope she will find some information there. This is all new to her including trying to read the Polish.

This is what we know:
Martin Bielitz and Karoline Lembke are the parents of:
Lydia Bielitz (her grandmother) b. 1900
Emma Bielitz b. 1895
Emelia Bielitz b. 1888
all are born in Lipiny in Lipno parish. I found Emelia in the Lipno confirmation records (1865-1906), but the others are too young.

Her grandfather is Gustav Krause b. 1895 in Gozdy, Sierpc parish. He is married 1917 to Lydia Bielitz and dies 1945 near Charkov, Russia. She does not know the parents of Gustav. She had searched at EZAV last Friday for his birth. I suggested when she goes to EZAV this Friday that she search for their marriage. Hopefully it was in Lipno and not Sierpc as Sierpc records are not in EZAV. I also suggested the parish of Dobrzyn on the Wisla as it is quite close to Lipiny.

Lydia's sister is married to Ferdinand Krause who was probably born in Bendzen se of Sierpc. She knows that Ferdinand is a relative of her grandfather Gustav but she does not know if he may be a brother or cousin. She also knows that the parents of Ferdinand are Heinrich Krause and Florentine Mueller.

Ferdinand had 2 brothers who came to the US, Adam and Julius. I did find the immigration, census, death, descendants of Adam, but no sure trace of Julius. Adam's locations are Hartford and Meriden, CT, with an obituary as recent as 2011 for Adam's daughter-in-law age 99.

Doris also knows that siblings of both her grandparents, Gustav Krause and Lydia b. Bielitz emigrated to Canada and the US, living about 2 hours from Hanover, Ontario; Omaha, Nebraska; and Connecticut. She knows they visited her family in Germany in the 1960's-70's and remembers the first names Erica, Ewald, and Herbert, but does not know if they are Bielitz or Krause.

I know that Rose and Earl have both corresponded with Doris, and I did suggest (as did Rose) that she may want to join sggee. I also checked the data on sggee, but do not see anything that looks like it is her family. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else? Or do you have any suggestions I might share with her or try myself?
